How switching works

Build it. Manage it. Prove it.

Build it

We start by documenting what you have: devices, network, accounts, licenses and backups. Then we fix the urgent gaps first, including MFA on every account, admin and email accounts included.

Manage it

Your team calls or emails one help desk. Every managed device is patched monthly, monitored and backed up.

Prove it

You see the work. We send monthly patch reports, and every quarter we walk through your backup reports and restore-test results with you in a technology business review.

Onsite in Calvert County

Onsite support from our Waldorf office

We serve Prince Frederick, Huntingtown, Dunkirk, Lusby, Solomons and the Beaches from our Waldorf office, and two hours of travel is included with every onsite visit. Most problems we fix remotely; when it needs a person at your desk, we come to you.

Your support comes from ITAssurance staff. Outside our office hours (8:30am to 5pm, Monday to Friday), call our after-hours number and leave a message. It goes to our on-call technician.

Local resources

Tech resources for Calvert County businesses

Internet providers

Provider data for Prince Frederick (BroadbandNow, October 2026) shows Xfinity cable almost everywhere, 5G home internet from AT&T and T-Mobile, fixed wireless and satellite from Starlink, and no wide fiber option. That makes a backup connection worth more here than in most places. If your phones and cloud apps depend on one connection, a second connection from a different provider can take over when the first one drops. We recommend a backup internet connection for most offices, and we set it up and manage it for you.

Power outages

Calvert County is served by SMECO (Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative), and by BGE in parts of the county. Report SMECO outages at smeco.coop/outage or 877-747-6326, and BGE outages at 877-778-2222. A battery backup (UPS) on your firewall, network switches and server keeps a short flicker from taking your whole office offline. After a long outage, check that last night's backup actually ran; for our managed clients, we check.

Retiring old computers

Calvert County takes computers, monitors and printers at all six of its convenience centers, including Appeal in Lusby and Ball Road in St. Leonard. For business quantities, check with the county Solid Waste Division (410-326-0210) or use a commercial recycler. Before any computer leaves your office, its drive should be wiped or destroyed. Or we can handle it for you: we preserve the data you need to keep, sanitize or destroy the drives following NIST SP 800-88 (the federal guideline for media sanitization), recycle the equipment and give you a data destruction certificate.

Moving or opening an office

Internet, phones, cabling and moving every computer can take weeks to line up, so start early. See our IT office relocation services.
